Dr. Feder's unique expertise is grounded in 20 years of practice as a corneal and refractive surgeon. Dr. Feder is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, where he also earned his bachelor’s degree with honors in Biophysics, graduating magna cum laude. After completing his residency in ophthalmology at Northwestern University in Chicago, he went on to complete a rare two year fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, practicing corneal surgery and the treatment of external eye problems. During both years at U.W. he was named a "Heed Scholar" signifying his outstanding contributions to his field.

Extensive LASIK Experience

He was among the first in the area to become certified in LASIK surgery and was featured on several local news programs. As a respected corneal surgeon, Dr. Feder is well known for performing corneal transplants, a highly complex procedure which requires considerably more years of experience to perfect than LASIK and gives him valuable insight to nuances and complications of corneal surgery. His LASIK patients uniquely benefit from his years of corneal experience, their excellent outcomes being the direct result of his careful, preventative approach which utilizes both diagnostic and surgical skills.

• Dr. Feder was previously in practice in Springfield, IL. As an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Southern Illinois School of Medicine, Dr. Feder established and directed the ophthalmology residency program and conducted research in the area of corneal transplantation and graft rejection. In private practice, he continues to offer his patients the most advanced technology available in laser vision correction as well as in state-of-the-art cataract surgery.
